Our Founder

Driven by a passion for design and a belief that architecture has the power to shape a better world, Zaki Sayed Ahmad founded ZSA bureau in 1977, only a few years after graduating from the University of Alexandria, positioning himself as one of the youngest influential entrepreneurs.

Zaki Sayed Ahmad has held the position of Vice President of the Architectural Association of Jordan as well as many senior positions throughout the years.

As a member of the JEA Green Building Committee for Sustainable Development, the Senior Specialty Engineers Interview Committee at JEA, as well as many more reputable associations, he has had a distinguished role in reshaping the concept of the architecture industry.

As Zaki enjoys guiding young students and future architects, he has the rewarding experience of being on a jury for graduation offices for multiple renowned universities.

With an idyllic vision, thousands of outstanding designs, and with over 45 years of experience, Zaki Sayed Ahmad had become a leading choice for architecture in the region.

our STORY

More than four decades ago, Zaki Sayed Ahmad + Associates (SA+a) (formerly ZSA Bureau) had the honor to be a part of the first school of architecture in the industry as it started preparing a generation of future Jordanian architects.

Since the very beginning, SA+a had strongly believed that architecture is one of the many different cultural faces of a community.

Embracing this belief, we have founded our philosophy in architecture on a genuine interest and profound passion for our local heritage; a heritage that is so dear and precious. We take much pride in having created a modern architecture inspired by the local community, respectful to its standards, and deeply saturated by its concepts.

Given this cultural understanding and social belonging, it was only natural that we made the effort to heritage values of traditional architecture to conform to the contemporary needs of the modern environment, while restoring the architectural personality of our civilization.

With a tendency to create a distinguished character of our own, and a deep sense of the necessity to create a change as meaningful as possible, it was no wonder we had a leading part in redefining the concept of design, and are very proud to have been the focus of many young architects’ aspirations through the years.

Through a journey of rewarding challenges and improvement opportunities, we dreamt big and worked bigger. With a growth mindset and continuous learning philosophy, our team of creative minds has proudly grown from ZSA Bureau into Zaki Sayed Ahmad + Associates (SA+a).

As a practice which believes in “Out of the box” innovation, limitless creativity runs through everything we do. Shaped by our vision of making a difference, our team embraces a trusting culture of ownership and development, and is a passionate advocate for responsible and sustainable design.
